Challenge: The team needed to implement a zero-downtime hot-standby node without risking duplicate block signing or protocol slashing penalties during unforeseen server hardware faults.

- Architecture Review: We audited their heartbeat daemon and identified a race condition where network latency between their Frankfurt and Helsinki nodes could cause both instances to briefly believe the other had crashed.
- Implementation of Hardware Signer Locks: We guided their engineering team in deploying a centralized HSM signing proxy with strict sequential slot confirmation locks, ensuring only one node can access the voting key at any given millisecond.
- Live Partition Simulation: During an 8-hour live drill, we repeatedly injected kernel panics, simulated fiber-optic cable cuts, and saturated disk queues. The failover executed smoothly across four consecutive trials with zero duplicate votes.
